What you share
We store your account email and name, profile and onboarding answers, check-ins, coach conversations and remembered context, dates, letters, completed activities, and subscription status to provide your plan and sync it across devices. Some of these details may reveal sensitive relationship, family, financial, or health information. Only share details you want processed for this purpose.
AI guidance
With your permission in the app, we send your check-in notes, coach messages, and relevant profile and conversation context to OpenRouter and Anthropic to classify safety concerns and generate guidance. These providers process the submitted text under their own service and privacy terms. Avoid including another person's identifying details when they are not needed. AI guidance can be inaccurate and is not professional or emergency care.
Our service providers include Neon for database storage, Vercel for hosting, and Resend for requested account emails and optional reminders. Apple processes purchases; we receive subscription transaction information, not your payment card details. We do not sell your information or use advertising trackers in the app.
Connected assistants
The Afterglow MCP connection uses your normal account sign-in and explicit OAuth permissions. It can share your email and verification state, the applicable Legal, Money, Home and Coparenting checklist items, and their saved progress. It can change checklist progress only with write permission. It does not share coaching conversations, mood, sleep, notes, letters or personal dates. The assistant you connect may retain information it receives under its own privacy terms. Revoke its future access in connections settings; revocation does not delete already shared copies.
We store hashed OAuth credentials, permission and account associations for at most 30 days; registered client metadata for at most 90 days; and security request counters keyed by a hash of the requesting IP for at most 30 days. Expired records are removed during subsequent connection registration. Vercel may retain operational security logs under its retention practices. We do not use these records to profile activity or for advertising.
On your phone
The sign-in token is stored in the iOS Keychain. Local settings, notification preferences, and any friend phone number you choose to save stay on your device. Face ID or device authentication is handled by iOS; Afterglow does not receive your biometric data. We do not request location or contacts access.
How long we keep it
We retain account information and your saved content while your account is active so your year and history remain available. You can delete your account in Me → Delete account. This removes your account and associated content from the application's active database. Copies in provider backups or operational records may remain according to provider retention and legal requirements. Contact us about access, correction, or deletion requests.
Your choices
You can decline AI guidance and use the calm tools. You can turn off notifications in the app or iOS Settings. Account security emails, such as a password reset you request, are separate from notifications. Subscription cancellation is managed through your Apple Account and does not itself delete your Afterglow account.
Security and changes
We use encrypted network connections and access controls. No service can promise absolute security. We will update this page when our practices change and identify the effective date above.
